The hotel stands between the districts Bistrita and Suceava at 1116 m altitude, near the National Highway nr 17 where Transalvania with Bucovina meet.

Hotels is inaugurated in 1983 and is built in medieval style.It is the only castel-hotel in Romania built up with a tower and inside court.It is the only hotel in the World in the theme of Dracula, the famous vampire.

The lobby is airy and quite large and is situated on the first floor. Wooden panelling is placed throuhout the lobby.

It is an enchanting venue as it feels it takes one back in time. The only hotel with a cemetry in front of it thus keeping up the Dracula theme. WS0306

Switzerland grants ‘Medieval jewel of Romania’ award to Sighisoara

The Scientific Committee that grants the Swiss Tourism Awards formally notified the Sighisoara Municipality that the town received the ‘Medieval jewel of Romania’ award in the ‘Destinations worth discovering’ category, Realitatea.net reports. Sighisoara will get its prestigious prize during the International Swiss Holiday Fair, to be staged on October 29 – November 1 in Lugano. “The fascinating and flourishing past, the medieval uniqueness and the romantic scent, the suggestive location on the Tarnava Mare Valley (...)are just a few reasons that made us grant this prestigious award to Sighisoara,” writes the motivation of the Scientific Committee for the Swiss Tourism Awards.
